Bhanoji Rao received his first degree at the age of 18 and started his professional career. By the time he relinquished formal positions in 2001, he gained 45 years of expertise in several areas of development economics and policy, with special reference to India and East Asia. His research output includes over a dozen books, several chapters in books and over 60 published papers. 

Since July 1966, he has been receiving guidance and inspiration from Sri Sathya Sai Baba. He is very deeply attached to Baba, His mission and His message of love and peace.
